What is a PCC Panel?

A PCC Panel (Power Control Center Panel) is the main electrical control panel responsible for receiving electrical power from transformers, DG sets, or utility sources and distributing it safely to various outgoing feeders. It acts as the heart of an industrial electrical distribution system by controlling, monitoring, and protecting the complete power supply network.

Modern PCC Panels integrate advanced protection devices, metering systems, circuit breakers, busbars, and monitoring instruments to improve operational efficiency while minimizing electrical failures.

A well-designed PCC Panel helps industries achieve:

How Does a PCC Panel Work?

A PCC Panel receives incoming electrical power from a transformer, utility supply or diesel generator. The incoming supply passes through an ACB, MCCB or switch fuse unit before reaching the main copper or aluminium busbar. The busbar then distributes power to multiple outgoing feeders connected to machinery, MCC panels, distribution boards and other electrical loads.

Protective devices installed inside the Power Control Center Panel monitor overload, short-circuit, earth-fault and abnormal voltage conditions. When an electrical fault is detected, the relevant circuit breaker isolates the affected feeder while allowing the remaining system to continue operating. Digital meters provide real-time information about voltage, current, frequency, power factor and energy consumption.

Frequently Asked Questions About PCC Panels

What is a PCC panel?

A PCC (Power Control Center) panel is an LT electrical distribution panel that receives incoming power and distributes it safely to multiple feeders and loads, with protection, metering and control built in.

What is the difference between a PCC panel and an MCC panel?

A PCC panel handles primary power distribution to feeders and sub-panels, while an MCC (Motor Control Center) panel is dedicated to starting, protecting and controlling electric motors.

What industries use PCC Panels?

PCC Panels are widely used in manufacturing plants, pharmaceutical companies, chemical industries, food processing units, hospitals, commercial buildings, data centers, water treatment plants, infrastructure projects, and many other industrial facilities.

Can PCC panels be customized?
